What You Believe

According to the mainstream media, Democrats and Republicans are diametrically opposed. But are they really? Let’s assume you are a traditional Democrat. You are not super wealthy. You work for a living in a trade, teach in elementary or middle school or you may work on the family farm. You are a union member but not a union official. You support your local law enforcement and the military. Your kids attend public schools. You coach a Little League team. You believe in God and are active in your church. Your parents always voted the Democratic ticket and loved JFK. You believe a woman has the right to have an abortion if her life is at risk or in cases of incest or rape, but not in the final trimester or at actual delivery. You prefer adoption to abortion in most cases. You believe a person should be valued by their character, not the color of their skin. You think Americans are basically good at heart and you are not a communist.

You think that taxes should be fair, and that the government should spend tax revenue on national defense, public infrastructure, and public welfare programs such as social security and healthcare for citizens only. You believe that the application of the Law should be fair and equal, regardless of race, sex, wealth, social class, religious belief or political party. You believe criminals should be jailed according to the nature of the crime and victims should be represented and protected by prosecutors. You think that biology is a fact, men are men and women are women. You do not think transgender biological males should compete in female sports. You think the borders should be used to control migration and you favor both a merit and compassion- based system of legal emigration. You are against open borders that are allowing anyone to enter including criminals, terrorists and drugs. You supported peaceful protests following the death of George Floyd but not the riots and violence during the summer of 2020. You think there are some bad cops, but not all are bad. You did not support de-funding the police.

You did well financially under the policies of Donald Trump but you didn’t care for his personality, style or his tweets. You drive a gasoline powered car, you heat your house with natural gas and have an electric powered air conditioner. Your electricity comes from a coal-fired power plant.

You were confused by the Trump Administration’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. The conflict between Dr. Fauci and President Trump did not give you confidence in the CDC or the Administration. But Dr. Fauci was adored by the liberal mainstream press and so you believed what he told you, even though he lied about the need for face masks and other PPE twice.

So up to this point you and 99 percent of Republicans are pretty much in agreement. How about that?

But there are some differences in opinion.

You didn’t really care much for Hillary Clinton either, but you voted for her anyway in 2016 because you didn’t like Trump’s style and Adam Schiff said Trump was a Russian spy. Adam Schiff even told you he had the proof that Trump colluded with the Russians during the election. And you believed him. You were shocked that Trump won the election. Some of your Democrat politicians voted against certifying the election and there were violent protests, even threats to kill the new President. But you didn’t know that because the media didn’t tell you. One Democrat politician initiated Impeachment Proceedings when Trump was inaugurated. You didn’t know that either. But you did know some Democrats didn’t attend the inauguration. That didn’t bother you because you were told the 2016 election was stolen.

You didn’t know that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a Democratic Socialist and that Democratic Socialism is Marxist. You didn’t know that Progressivism, the primary driving force of the Democrat party, is Marxism.

You’ve been told that the Republicans want to pollute the planet and take away the right for a woman to have an abortion no matter what.  You have been told that the rate of inflation is not going up more than normal and the increase is transient. You have been told that gasoline prices are stable and going down. You have been told that men can have babies and that every other person is transgender. You have been told that America was founded in 1619 on the evil of slavery and that systemic racism is still prevalent even after the Civil War and the success of the Civil Rights movement and subsequent laws. And you have been told that half of the country are semi-fascists and are a danger to our Democracy. You have been told the MAGA and America First Republicans are evil.

None of that is true. The danger the Democracy, our Representative Republic is now facing resides in the far-left Progressive elements of the Congress and the Administration. Most of the Nation thinks we are headed in the wrong direction. You are a part of that Nation. If you are a real American and a true Patriot, you need to vote for a Conservative Republican, not a Democrat this November.
