GUN CONTROL: OXYMORON?
America was built on the premises of individual freedom and a peaceful community. These premises became the promises of the government. The power to fulfill these promises was voluntarily transferred from the governed to the government.
Now we have another horrific massacre of innocent school children by a mentally deranged teenager. This will be followed by calls for more gun control laws by the liberal elites. The politicians will play politics but the problem won’t be solved. The focus will be on “the guns” and not “how and why.” The calls for banning guns will result in more gun sales and ammunition, not less.
We need to find out how a mentally ill young man purchased lethal firearms, why existing laws were not enforced, and why early warning signs were ignored by community officials and the local public.
The recent tragic event in Uvalde, Texas was caused by a sick person who was able to acquire lethal weapons when the existing laws were designed to prevent that from happening. The laws were not enforced. This has nothing to do with the Second Amendment or even “assault weapons.” This is the result of poor leadership and the apathy of a community that ignored the warning signs of a sick person in their midst.
Look for a leader that focuses on the cause not the means. Vote accordingly.
Yes I realize there are mentally ill people, but let us not forget that there is evil present in our world and there are evil people that will and do evil things. There is a God and there is a Devil and there is a battle between good and evil, but praise God good will prevail!
Murder is caused by human evil; guns, knives, bombs, baseball bats and strangling human hands, among many others, are the means. Hitler also used gas chambers; while Lenin and Stalin also used mass starvation. Focusing on the means will always be unsuccessful, because there will always be ways to commit murder in the presence of an evil will, guns or no guns.
Also, in Orwellian fashion, cities with strict gun control laws, mostly run by Democrats, only control and disarm good guys, not murderers. Thus, so-called "gun free zones" become gun kill zones.
Our Founding Fathers understood the common sense moral principles of good and evil, where human evil was the focus; for many of us the same common sense prevails, while others have apparently lost their American Minds. Our Founding Fathers knew that guns don't aim themselves at innocent people, and are unable to pull their own triggers.
