In my research for my first book, The Moral Case for American Freedom, I was scanning the Internet for the term Judeo-Christian beliefs when I discovered a kindred spirit in Ronald R. Cherry MD, a board-certified specialist in lung disease who is in the full-time practice of medicine in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Dr. Cherry had written many opinion pieces on a website called RenewAmerica.com. Many of his articles seemed to parallel my own published articles, but his were much deeper. He kindly agreed to allow me to include some of his writings in my book. His understanding of the Declaration of Independence and its important relationship to the Constitution were immensely helpful to me. I suggested that he write a book on that subject. He did and it was my honor to publish his work --Restoring the American Mind.
In late 2019, the battle with the coronavirus, COVID-19 began and my new friend was on the front line. Just like his father, an Army veteran who won the Bronze Star for heroic action in the battle for Saipan during WW2, Dr. Cherry did his duty for God and Country. Dr. Cherry is not involved in politics, but he has come to the conclusion that all liberty-loving Americans must educate themselves on the principles and values that were held by our Founding Fathers — and that to maintain our freedom, each generation of Americans will be required to make sacrifices and emulate that generation of Americans.
According to Dr. Cherry, “Economic Marxism occurs when government seeks to force equal property outcome among the people, doing so through ‘despotic inroads on the rights of property’ – i.e.: government expropriation of property from the laboring middle class – the so-called bourgeoisie – which is "re-distributed" – first to themselves – and then to the labor-challenged so-called proletariat class in return for votes. Marxists call such economic social engineering ‘Social Equity’ – Orwellian Newspeak for unequal property rights and unequal tax law – or it is called ‘Social Justice’ – Orwellian Newspeak for social injustice. Karl Marx understood that forced equal property outcome required the tyranny of unequal property rights and inequality before the law. Together, the labor-challenged tax-eating Marxist and so-called proletariat classes possess superior rights to property compared to the laboring tax-paying middle class. The inequity of forced equal outcome is the tyranny of unequal rights.”
Ronald R. Cherry is a Heartland Patriot and Physician.
