It is unclear how long the American people are going to sit by and absorb the misinformation on climate change and global temperatures being spouted by leftist news anchors. All of the major networks with the exception of one blasted out the carefully truncated data on “the hottest day in history” without qualification. Well, it wasn’t just missing qualifiers, it was actually deceptive at its core. According to a recent newsletter from the CO2 Coalition, “We know that previous warm periods were warmer than our modern temperatures. For example, during the Roman Warm Period there was citrus being grown in the north of England and barley was grown by Vikings on Greenland 1,000 years ago. Why aren't they grown there now? It's quite simple: Lower modern temperatures.
The US Historical Climatology Network found that both the number of weather stations reporting temperature over 100 degrees F and the Maximum Average Temperature for July 4th have been slightly declining since the record began in 1895 – not increasing – as the CNN headline claims. According to the scientists at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, the global climate trend since Dec. 1, 1978 has been +0.13 C per decade. According to these scientists, “For several years now the trend has been extremely close to +0.135 °C/decade (it’s at +0.1341 now). In all likelihood we will see that threshold between 0.134 and 0.135 crossed soon, and we shall indicate the global trend is +0.14 °C/decade by rounding up. In truth, the shift will be very slight.”
This data is obtained from earth orbiting satellites. The satellite-based instruments measure the temperature of the atmosphere from the surface up to an altitude of about eight kilometers above sea level. Once the monthly temperature data are collected and processed, they are placed in a “public” computer file for immediate access by atmospheric scientists in the U.S. and abroad.
But there is more data to come and the CNN Ministry of Misinformation will have a field day reporting more leftist propaganda. The reason is because the Pacific tropical sea temperatures are expected to warm more than usual. NOAA has declared an El Niño Advisory (upgraded from a “Watch”), indicating high confidence that a warm phase tropical Pacific event is occurring. Now, it is my belief that the current and projected increase in manmade CO2 emissions will have little effect on the Pacific Decadal Oscillations known as El Niño and La Niña, but that’s just me. I’m an engineer, not a climate scientist. If I am incorrect, show-me.
Lying by omission or lying by proffesion!
