The subversion of common language is a tactic used to modify or to even destroy a culture. Today, the concept of Individual Freedom is under attack by a militant minority of the queer community. Much the same as the rise of the black militant movement of the late 60s, the “in your face” minority controlling the LGBT community is setting back the acceptance of their lifestyle by a significant portion of the general public.
With the appointment of a Supreme Court justice unwilling to define the term “woman”, it is clear that one of the battles for Common Sense has been lost by Heartland America. It was lost because those in the Heartland were afraid to join the battle at the beginning. Many didn’t even know there was a battle underway. To them, “Trans” was short for “transportation.” It didn’t mean biological males competing in female sporting events. That has unraveled decades of progress in Women’s rights.
The University of California at San Francisco has a website which explains the LGBT position on pronouns as follows:
“What are Pronouns?
Pronouns are words that refer to either the people talking (like you or I) or someone or something that is being talked about (like she, they, and this). Gender pronouns (like he or them) specifically refer to people that you are talking about. [How is “them” a gender identifier?]
Pronouns are used in every day speech and writing to take the place of people's names. We frequently use them without thinking about it. Often, when speaking of someone in the third person, these pronouns have a gender implied. These associations are not always accurate or helpful.
Mistaking or assuming peoples' pronouns without asking first, mistakes their gender and sends a harmful message. Using someone's correct gender pronouns is one of the most basic ways to show your respect for their identity.” —-University of California at San Francisco
This is utter nonsense. Calling a person by the wrong pronoun is not a crime and it usually isn’t intended to be hurtful. It just means the individual being identified incorrectly probably has a physical appearance usually associated with a specific gender. That physical appearance is based on biology and one’s physical appearance is usually related to one’s gender. That bit of Biology has been around for a while.
I recall the SNL skits of the unknown gender character Pat. Was it comedy or satire? Today’s answer may be different than thirty years ago. In Hollywood, hypocrisy abounds. But then, you already knew that. VOTEdemsout2022
The removal of pronouns from common use is truly nonsensical. But such removal has even greater significance. It further demeans or even destroys the God-ordained male-female relationship and, by extension, perhaps even the traditional family unit. Such destruction creates a leadership vacuum in the family unit that invites external (government ?) control.
Excellent analysis! George Orwell would agree: "There is no swifter route to the corruption of thought than through the corruption of language."
