It's Hard to be an Oracle
According to political pundit “I’m certain Harris will win” James Carville, [Joe Biden is ] “one of the most accomplished Americans since World War II. If you just look at what he did as chairman of the Judiciary, Foreign Relations, Vice President, President, and you look at the tragedies of his life and distress that he's exhibited, and he's a well-liked, very admirable person, and he made one colossal mistake, and the Democrats made a colossal mistake by going along with it." Oh my.
No one is more out-spoken than James Carville. But, the very opposite of his mountain-top predictions are almost always revealed as the eventual truth. As Bill Clinton’s key strategist he came up with "It's the economy, stupid.” He was right about that. But that isn’t why Clinton won the Presidency. Ross Perot split the conservative vote and Bush Senior caved to the Democrats push for higher taxes and more spending. Even I know that. And Carville has been wrong ever since.
Biden is accomplished all right. He is an accomplished grifter, premier hypocrite and chronic embellisher of his personal achievements. He has been that way all of his political life. I remember Biden’s classic drilling of conservative Supreme Court justices with his pet phrase, “I question your judgement.” This guy, who finished at or near the bottom of his class in law school, was questioning the candidates for the highest judicial positions in the Nation. That took some chutzpah.
But it is worse than that. There was the rumor, unproven, that Barack Obama said “Don't underestimate Joe's ability to F*ck things up.” That may have been taken out of context but seems plausible. But former Secretary of the Defense, Robert Gates, did say “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Make that five decades Mr. Secretary. As I recall Biden was the only Obama cabinet member who balked at taking out Osama bin Laden when Seal Team 6 cornered that terrorist leader. It’s a good thing that no one listened to “Old Joe” on that day.
The Biden administration made its mission the undoing of the prior Trump administration’s positive agenda. With great pomp and ceremony Biden cancelled the Keystone pipeline, opened the southern border to illegal aliens, and staged the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden was a useful puppet for Nancy Pelosi and many Obama holdovers including Susan Rice and Anita Dunn. Pelosi used the COVID Pandemic to implement mail-in balloting and ballot harvesting to skew the 2020 Presidential election in Biden’s favor. That was a disservice to the Nation but served the Democrats well.
It is unclear who was actually running the executive branch during Biden’s term but whoever it was nearly destroyed the United States. While Ronald Reagan famously stated, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” Destruction may be less than a generation away. Maybe just one more Presidential term with Democrats and socialists in charge will lead to America’s ultimate demise. Even a 2026 mid-term Republican loss could be devastating. Best to not let that happen.
