“Pelosi calls on Netanyahu to resign, condemns him as 'obstacle' to peace . . .
Netanyahu's response to Oct. 7 has been 'terrible,' Pelosi says.”
Nancy Pelosi, (D-San Francisco) has had one singular accomplishment in over thirty years in Congress. She became the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives. That’s it. She would set the lowest bar for positive achievement of any politician with the exception of President Joe Biden. As Speaker of the House of Representatives, she would prove to be self-centered, petulant, and power-hungry.
In 2007, President George W. Bush began his State of the Union address by recognizing the newly elected Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. “And tonight I have the high privilege and distinct honor of my own as the first President to begin the State of the Union message with these words: Madam Speaker.” It was a typical “class act” by President Bush. Unfortunately, he was honoring a “crass” person.
As speaker, Pelosi presided over and contributed to some of the worst years in modern American history. While President George W. Bush often gets most of the blame, and unfairly so, for the 2008 economic crash, few remember Democrats had been running Congress for nearly two years leading up to the recession, when Pelosi was the party’s most prominent and vocal leader. It was Pelosi, along with other Democratic leaders like former Congressman Barney Frank, who routinely called for reducing home lending standards to achieve political goals — directly contributing to the eventual 2008 collapse of the financial market.
Pelosi’s failures aren’t limited to economics, either. She was also one of the chief advocates of the Affordable Care Act, perhaps the single worst piece of health care legislation in American history. It has destroyed private medical practices, medical insurance and hospitals while forcing Americans into a national health system that they hadn’t asked for or wanted.
Nancy Pelosi is the definition of hubris in the flesh. Her excessive arrogance led her to believe that the gavel of the People’s House said she could do no wrong even when she spouted blatant untruths from the podium. Her modus operandi was “the ends justify the means.” As Speaker, she would prove to be short-sighted, often irrational, and her past actions have proven to be harmful to the Nation.
From the beginning of President Trump’s first term, she was openly hostile to President Trump personally and lowered the bar for political decorum. During the opening of the President’s first State of the Union address she would exhibit her disgust for the President through a contemptuous, awkward hand clapping. At another State of the Union, she would rip up the text of the President’s speech in an open display of petulant arrogance. She would go on to damage the Nation in 2021 with her corrupt Stalinist January 6th Committee. That Committee was the real “Threat to Democracy”, not the 2020 Election protestors or Donald Trump.
The elderly senior stateswoman was a devious manager and no patriot. She had a firm grip on her caucus during her tenure, but did nothing to help her constituency in San Francisco or the State of California. She was politically strong but patriotically weak and the Nation suffered under her “leadership.” And now she thinks she can tell the valiant leader of the only Democracy in the Middle East what to do. What hubris.
