Just how ignorant have we become? Fox News field reporters ask big city passers-by basic questions about basic things. The responders are clueless. Who did we fight in the American Revolution? France? Oh yeah, wasn’t it Germany? Who was the first US President? Lincoln? Maybe Ben Franklin? Isn’t that why he is on the hundred-dollar bill? Aren’t we all going to die from Climate Change if we don’t stop using fossil fuels? What, you didn’t know that gasoline, diesel, and natural gas are fossil fuels, not just coal. Perhaps the nose ring and neck tattoos have interfered with your brain synapses?
It is sad. But here is an idea. How about asking those same questions out in a small town in the American Heartland? Or perhaps the kids coming out of a Christian private school or even home-schooled? You might gain a glimmer of hope for the future of the Nation. Assuming of course that we have free and fair elections again. Not like the RIGGED 2020 Presidential election fiasco.
If you can’t wait for 2024 for Donald Trump to take the reins of government once more, then consider what could happen this November if the Congress, both House and Senate, went majority conservative Republican and the Senate even got a veto-proof majority. Did you know any citizen of the right age, not just a member of the House of Representatives, can be elected to the position of the Speaker of the House? In fact, there is no rule in the Constitution or the rules of the House that requires the Speaker to be a member of Congress. It is a only a tradition that dates back to the Articles of Confederation.
So, just suppose the House selected Donald Trump to be Speaker. I know, Kevin McCarthy would have to hold his horses for a while. But then the House could pass Articles of Impeachment against both President Biden and Vice President Harris and the Senate did likewise. There is plenty of evidence that Biden is corrupt, and Harris probably is. Both executives would have to resign, and the Speaker (Trump) would become interim President until a National election could take place. I know, it’s a far-fetched idea but possible if I read the Constitution correctly. But then I didn’t go to Harvard, Yale or the University of Chicago, that bastion of Constitutional professors.
Now consider what would happen if interim President Trump went to work to undo all of the Biden administration foul-ups but also decided to forgo running for a second full term. In fact, he may not even be able to run again. He could then support the slate of 2024 candidates and be a “king-maker” of sorts. So, who would he pick?
Now flash back to the 2000 Presidential election debates, not the contentious Bush v. Gore debates, but the single Cheney v. Lieberman VP debate. Do you recall that most people thought that Cheney and Lieberman were better candidates for the Presidential job than either Bush or Gore? I remember that very well. But Bush won and Cheney served as his VP and was effective in that role. He had the insider political experience that George W. needed even though W.’s dad had been President.
Just consider the potential Republican slate for 2024. It is a very strong field of high-quality candidates. You could have Ron DeSantis and Mike Pompeo as President and VP, in any order would be fine. Then Nikki Haley as Secretary of State, Tom Cotton as Secretary of Defense, and Ted Cruz as Attorney General. I would like to see Josh Hawley as the head of the Homeland Security, Rand Paul as the Secretary of the Treasury and Dr. Ben Carson to head HHS. The Department of Energy? That’s easy, Alex Epstein would be perfect for the job.
But that’s just me. VOTEdemsout2022
