Europe’s first fascist leader, Benito Mussolini, took the name of his party from the Latin word fasces, which referred to a bundle of elm or birch rods (usually containing an ax) used as a symbol of penal authority in ancient Rome.
Hitler admired Mussolini and followed suit with Nazism. Although fascist parties and movements differed significantly from one another at that time, they had many characteristics in common, including extreme militaristic nationalism, contempt for electoral democracy and a belief in a natural social hierarchy where elites would rule by force. The elites would “guide” the middle and lower class for “the good of the nation.” They would rule using the Government Police. You can see a description of these enforcers in Animal Farm. They were the Great Leader pig Napoleon’s pet dogs.
Progressives today are actual fascists. And Joe Biden said he would be the most progressive American president in history. A lengthy pamphlet or book called "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky was a guidebook for the Progressive movement beginning in the early 1970s. The pamphlet was really a treatise or playbook on how to eat someone else's lunch without paying for it. It glorified organized theft in the guise of “community organizing.” Alinsky played on the emotions of the misfortunate. He used psychological ploys to hold some misfortunate group together and then gave them a boogie man on which to blame all their troubles. The "Rules" developed by Alinsky have been used successfully by Democrats for many years. One of the earliest disciples of Alinsky was 2016 Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton. President Barack Obama was an expert at using Alinsky’s rules as a community organizer early in his political career.
Now the handlers of President Joe Biden are pushing him to fall back on “Rules for Radicals” and accusing his political enemies, perhaps now more than half of the voting population, that they are semi-fascists when, in truth, his Progressive Democrats have become actual fascists. Gaslighting your political enemies into thinking that they are evil while you are the one performing evil is an Alinsky tactic.
The MAGA and America First Republicans are actually conservative American Patriots guided by their faith in God and a belief in the Law of the Land outlined by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. They represent the real WE THE PEOPLE. They are not semi-fascists or fascists. But Progressive Democrats and Democratic Socialists are fascists. They believe in government control of everything and they believe that they are that government.
One key to victory over an evil enemy is to understand their tactics. The following is from a book I published in 2018 called Heartland Rebellion. It is now dated but still pertinent and available.
So, here is the basis of the Democrat playbook I described in that book.
Alinsky Rule 1
“Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
Alinsky Rule 2
“Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
Alinsky Rule 3
“Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
Alinsky Rule 4
“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all their own rules.
Alinsky Rule 5
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. For example, “You are a racist.” It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
Alinsky Rule 6
“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing and will even suggest better ones.
Alinsky Rule 7
“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
Alinsky Rule 8
“Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
Alinsky Rule 9
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” For example, “Climate Change.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
Alinsky Rule 10
“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.
Alinsky Rule 11
“If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
Alinsky Rule 12
“The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
Alinsky Rule 13
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
MAGA and AMERICA FIRST
The Conservative MAGA Republican playbook is different than Biden’s Progressive Democrats. It says that Government cannot steal life, liberty or interfere with an individual's "pursuit of happiness" by any amount that is not granted by the Governed. So MAGA and America First Republicans are anti-fascists and pro-American. Biden is wrong. That is all there is to that. VOTEdemsout2022
As teachers in public colleges/universities we have seen a tremendous decline in people's critical thinking. ..partly because of our education system, partly because of social media (making young people more narcissistic), the internet (they all want to cite Wikipedia) and video gaming. . .so we are raising young adults and the citizens of tomorrow who have lost the capacity to think rationally and clearly. . .they know Lady Gaga, but not Lady Macbeth; the Kardashians, but not the Founding Fathers. We need to see a little more "Fight the Power," in them as earlier generations stood for Civil Rights and against the endless wars in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Absolutely spot on. It all starts with honest education by dedicated teachers. But education has been captured by the left. From Marx to Columbia University, from Dewey to the NEA and the Teachers’ unions. The only hope is the parents. They saw what their kids were being taught thanks to Covid. Now it’s time to throw the bums out.
