WHY FOX NEWS?
Why do I watch Fox News for my primary source of national news? You could say it is because I am a conservative and they reinforce my belief system. But that wouldn’t be the complete story. There are things I don’t like about Fox News and I will get into these in a minute. But first, I have to confess that I really don’t like the “News” as portrayed by the major broadcast channels, NBC, CBS and ABC. And CNN? They do not hide their anti-American leftist bias. They are no longer liberal in the traditional sense and that is a tragedy. They are not reporting the facts, they are just repeating a Marxist propaganda script without even paraphrasing the talking points between the mainstream network anchors. And they do it in a smug, condescending manner.
Fox News says that they are “fair and balanced.” They basically live up to that statement. They certainly are pro-America. And they certainly don’t look down on Heartland folks, even though they themselves live in a DC and coastal elitist bubble. They follow the old Journalist Creed and Code of Ethics that the other media giants have discarded.
There is no fairer and honest evening news anchor than Fox’s Bret Baier. He was well-mentored by Brit Hume. America owes a debt to Mr. Hume. For actual wit, I think Greg Gutfeld has taken command of that arena, hands down. But Gutfeld is followed by another top-notch news anchor, Shannon Bream. She restores the order of things somewhat. For actual investigative reporting, it is hard to find anyone better than Lara Logan. But if I want to understand what it all means, then that requires watching Tucker Carlson un-peel the onion of mainstream media lies to reveal the actual truth, both on his night show and his hourly interviews on Tucker Carlson Today on Fox Nation.
What I don’t like about FOX NEWS is the repetitive nature from show to show. I get it though. The opinion stuff like Carlson, Hannity and Ingraham need the latest news in order to provide their opinions. I just wish Hannity and Ingraham would cut back on their introductory shtick when they have important guests like Victor Davis Hanson. Let the man talk please. Maybe be a little more like Martha MacCallum, Harris Faulkner, Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino.
So, yep, I am a Fox News fan. Just wish they spent more time in the actual Heartland.
